Suswin, an Ojibwe word for Nest, is addressing a serious shortfall in the City of North Bay for housing which is both culturally appropriate and safe for Indigenous people, as well as geared towards holistically treating the issues causing homelessness within the Urban Indigenous community.
Suswin Village will be a 30 bed transitional home that is operated by the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre with many programs available to help each individual reach their best potential and step forward onto a path of Mino Bimaadiziwin.
